History Won’t Care has always shown plenty behind the scenes but has rarely reproduced that ability on raceday until powering home in the TABtouch Westspeed Platinum Hcp (1200m) at Pinjarra on Saturday.

He won a Pinjarra maiden exactly a year ago but didn’t make any headway during a short summer campaign with trainer Jason Miller.  “He’s been immature and is a hard horse to work out so hopefully today’s win will help him click this prep,” Miller said.   “He dug deep in the final 100m and it was a half decent win.

“He really found the line and that will give him confidence going forward.”

History Won’t Care also impressed winning jockey Clint Johnston-Porter.  “He’s the best-moving galloper I’ve ridden in a long time.  He’s had some allergies and setbacks and is only just now catching up to his ability.

“He’s come back this prep absolutely charging and there was actually too much horse underneath me today.  But when he got out, that turn of foot was brilliant.”

History Won’t Care was sold for $200,000 as a yearling by Dawson Stud (as agent) for Anita Vale Stud breeders Robert and Ann Anderson.  He’s a younger half-brother to G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) winner Portland Sky (Deep Field) who is gearing up for his fourth book at Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Their dam Sky Rumba retired a maiden after a dozen starts but her pedigree demanded a start at stud.  She passed away in February and the Andersons have retained her recent Ascot-winning filly Brief Romance (Universal Ruler).  Her final foals are colts by St Mark’s Basilica (Fr) and Cosmic Force.

Second-dam Line Of Flight (Bletchley Park) was an Ascot Listed winner at two (Supremacy Stakes) and three (Fairetha Stakes).  Third-dam Sweepshot (Dr Grace) also foaled Scenic Shot (Scenic) to a dozen black-type victories headed by the G1 Doomben Cup (twice) and G1 Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington.

The Andersons have been breeding from the family for generations going back to fourth dam Sovereign Shade (Beau Sovereign) and fifth-dam Sheltering (Valley Forge) who they purchased as a yearling at the 1982 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
