Forest View in the frame with Sixinch Heels

Forest View Farm has been in the frame in the week just gone with homebred mare Sixinch Heels a resilient winner of the Swan Draught Hcp (1600m) at Belmont on Saturday.

The Simon Miller-trained daughter of Nicconi had been retained after failing to reach a $70,000 reserve at the 2023 Perth Magic Millions. “It’s been a while between drinks,” assistant trainer Kelly Kinninmont said after the half-length victory over Fifth Essence (Patronize) and Quintessence (Shaft).

“She’s a great worker at home but can be frustrating at times on raceday.  Holly (Watson) rode her perfectly today and Ben Duncan reckons she’s bred to run 2000m.”

Sixinch Heels has earned $295,000 to date including Westspeed Bonuses of $65,500 after four starts into a winter prep.  Owner-breeders Ben and Jo Duncan had purchased her dam Atame (Zoustar) with a PPT to Nicconi for $45,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Forest View also taking time with its promising 2yo Lenny Good Child (Splintex) who won a Lark Hill barrier trial earlier this month.  Still unraced, he’s bred to improve with racing for Daniel & Ben Pearce.

Lenny Good Child is from Lennon’s Song (New Approach) who won up to 1900m at York.  Second-dam Imaginaire (Fusaichi Pegasus) won a LR WA St Leger (2400m) and third-dam Beaux Art (Nomrood) a G1 WATC Australian Derby (2400m).

Meanwhile, class mare Super Smink has been withdrawn from the first session of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast on Tuesday.

Super Smink is by Roselee Stud sire Super One (I Am Invincible) and was bred by Forest View Farm from their Snitzel mare Sminky Shorts.  She was last seen winning the G3 Irwin Stakes (1200m) in Adelaide and was initially listed for sale by Vinery Stud (as agent) for a 20-member syndicate.

Trained by Dan Morton, she was Champion WA 2yo sweeping the 2023 RL Magic Millions Classic, G2 Karrakatta Plate and G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes.  She has continued to perform across multiple seasons and is nearing $1.7million in prizemoney after adding the 2024 G3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) and 2025 G2 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) prior to her successful interstate raid recently.
