Playing God sired his second Winner Of The Week this month when Helluva Goddess caused a $32 upset on debut in the Cuprum Distillery Maiden (1200m) at Bunbury on Thursday.
The Darling View Thoroughbreds champion had also been highlighted on November 7 when Black Ora won first time out at Northam for Durrant Racing.
Helluva Goddess was forced to sit three-wide without cover in a compact field from start to finish but maintained a strong gallop to defeat front-runner Gaspardo (Maschino) by a half-head. There was only a length and a half between the first nine across the line!
Helluva Goddess and Gaspardo also filled out a quinella for Elvira Park owner David Moore who bred and sold the winner to Great Southern trainer Paul Hunter at last year’s Perth Magic Millions. She was the second top-priced filly on the Day 2 leaderboard at the Swan Valley Sale.
Her dam Helena Miss had won at up to a mile at Belmont and her 2yo is an unnamed Playing God colt with Neville Parnham. She was bred by Ellie Giles and second-dam Lovely Views (Scenic) is a full-sister to LR Farnley Stakes (1200m) winner Attractions.
