Opportunities abound at Oakland Park Sale

Renowned WA nursery Oakland Park will conduct an unreserved reduction of breeding stock through the Inglis Online Late April Sale.

The Sale will commence tomorrow, Friday April 19 with bidding closing on Wednesday April 24.

Oakland Park has a history of success as breeders of living legend Northerly plus superstars Marasco, Covertly and Ihtsahymn.  Its current stars include precocious 2yo Bustling (Frosted) who is a last-start winner of the LR Perth Stakes (1100m) and is the opening $2.50 favourite for the G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) this Saturday.

Another top-class galloper sporting Oakland Park’s famed XX5 brand is progressive 3yo Lord Vampi (Playing God) who won the LR J C Roberts Quality (1800m) last month and followed up with a placing in the G2 WATC Derby (2400m) on Saturday.

The Inglis Online Late April Sale gives breeders a rare chance to tap into some big, closely-held black-type families.  Highlights include:

Molto Allegro.  A winning daughter of flying machine Jestatune and the mother of 2019 LR Perth Stakes (1100m) winner Beethoven and consistent gelding Top of the Pops.  Selling in foal to gun first season sire Too Darn Hot (GB).

Aliberani.  A daughter of legendary stallion Redoute’s Choice and the mother of exciting 3yo filly Mare Of Mt Buller (Dundeel) who has won three from five starts and was close up in G1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) last time out at Rosehill.

She is selling in foal to three-time Royal Ascot Group 1-winning sprinter and Champion European first-season sire Blue Point (Shamardal)

Ihts Closing Inn  A multiple stakes winning daughter of prolific local sire Sessions from the family of Group 1 winner Ihtsahymn and Bruckner who was runner-up in a G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington before launching his stallion career at Widden Stud.

With mares in foal to international superstars Blue Point and Too Darn Hot and local stars Sessions, A Lot, Universal Ruler and Gingerbread Man, the sale presents a huge chance for all breeders to upgrade their broodmare band.
