Universal Ruler clocked a second double in a fortnight when his mares Military Jane and Empress Of India were both successful at Belmont on Saturday.

The Scenic Lodge resident had commenced a purple-patch at Belmont on Saturday, May 23 when Gold Maker broke a run of outs for his owners Adam and Terry Kenyon three hours before Delicate Ruler won on the opening day of the season at Broome.

Swift Ruler (Belmont), Elegant Ruler (Northam) and Savvy Ruler (Pinjarra) filled out the in-betweens as part of a resounding run of 7 individual winners in 15 days.

Universal Ruler also chimed in as a damsire at Pinjarra on Thursday with a winning treble courtesy of Market Snitz (Snitzel), Rock The Market (Fastnet Rock) and Linchpin (Playing God).

He sired 17 foals in the spring of 2025 starting with the September 1 colt from Out Spoken Lady (Galileo).  The Gold Front Thoroughbreds mare has already foaled the Universal Ruler filly Lady Cosmology who won to Group 3 level in the SAJC Proud Miss Stakes at Morphettville.

Universal Ruler is rising 22 and Scenic Lodge owner Jeremy Smith is expecting another 10 foals from the limited book he covered last year.

Magic Millions has catalogued two colts by Universal Ruler for the Winter Yearling Sale on Sunday, June 21.  Lot 3 from Our Pie ‘o’ My (So Secret) is a full-brother to Saturday’s Belmont winner Empress Of India and is being offered by J Farms as agent for Peter Morley.

The Universal Ruler colt out of Fromwhere (Dissident) is the final of five lots being offered by Westbury Park at the Swan Valley Sale.  His dam is a half-sister to G3 Roma Cup winner Battle Hero (Stratum).
