Adebisi boost for Captain Sonador

Trainer Desleigh Forster cheered home Adebisi at Eagle Farm on Saturday and the win was also boost for Raheen Stud’s first-season sire Captain Sonador.

Adebisi (4g Shovhog – Hell For Leather by Sanction) has won 5 races from 20 starts and $343,000.  He was bred and sold by Raheen Stud for $15,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions Summer yearling sale

“He was still a baby early on,” Forster said.  “We could have gone south but we decided to look after him.  Hopefully, he will look after us in the long run.”

Adebisi is a younger brother to Doomben winner The Gingermeister who was also trained by Forster for a syndicate including Raheen studmaster Basil Nolan.

Their dam Hell For Leather has been tested in foal to Captain Sonador at Raheen as part a sizeable first book for the G1 AJC Epsom Hcp winner.

Captain Sonador became the first Shamardal to claim a Group 1 against all ages when he won the Epsom.

Shamardal is based at Darley’s Kildangan Stud in Ireland and won’t return to Australia.  At last count, has sired 33 stakes winners of 62 stakes races in both hemispheres.

Captain Sonador also has PPT results back from numerous well-bred mares including the dam of Hard To Catch Mrs. Bligh (Celestial Bounty).

Brisbane stakes winner Beyonce Star (Orientate) and English Summer (Dodge), the dam of top-class youngster Rocket To Glory, have also been tested in foal.

Captain Sonador is serving a full book at an introductory fee of $11,000 (inc gst).
