Adebisi doubles up in Vo Rogue Plate

Adebisi continued Raheen Stud’s winning run with a convincing victory in the Listed Gold Edition Plate at Doomben last Saturday and he will endeavour to make it a black-type double in the G3 Vo Rogue Plate on Boxing Day.

The Shovhog colt won the Gold Edition from Bianca Jewel, Startsmeup with heavily backed favourite Spirit of Boom fourth.

Trainer Desleigh Forster was keyed up before the Gold Edition and the result confirmed how highly she rates Adebisi.   “He’s the best three-year-old in Queensland,” Forster said.  “I’ll back him up in the Vo Rogue next Sunday.”

Adebisi (3c Shovhog – Hell For Leather by Sanction) played second-fiddle to top colt Pressday in the winter and Forster has the 2011 carnival in her sights.  “He’s a late October foal,” Forster said last week.  “I’ve found if you look after babies they’ll look after you in the long run.”

Raheen Stud bred and sold Adebisi for $15,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions Summer yearling sale.  He is by deceased Raheen Stud sire Shovhog who came close to a winning double at The Farm.  His first starter Noisy Ocean was nailed by Five O’Clock earlier in the day.  They streeted the remainder of the field in the Coca Cola 2YO Hcp.

Adebisi’s older sister The Gingermeister was scratched from the SITA Environmental Hcp at Eagle Farm Wednesday.  She has won two of her last three at Doomben and Ipswich.

Resident sire Stromberg Carlson can keep the Raheen strike-rate rolling at Wyong today.  His last start winner Fifth Leg has accepted for the TAB Big6 Hcp (Race 7) at 5.40pm (NSW Time).

Fifth Leg won the Wyong Magic Millions Maiden when racing first-up since June.  She is raced by Grafton owner-breeders Stan and Andrew Hayes along with Warwick Farm trainer David Pfieffer and his partner Elizabeth Street.
