Connections of stakes winning Perth filly Night War have been inundated with offers from Eastern seaboard agents in the last week.
Night War (3f General Nediym – Samar by Secret Savings) is a classy filly in her own right but the asking price has escalated since her younger half-sister Samaready (More Than Ready) won the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
Night War is owned by former AFL footballer Peter Bell and Perth businessman Ray Meadowcroft. She was a $90,000 buy at the 2010 Magic Gold Coast Millions but her current value is reported to be nearer $750,000.
“There’s a chance she won’t race for us again,” trainer Simon Miller said. “Peter and Ray aren’t breeders and they have also entered her for the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale next month.”
Night War has earned black-type victories in the G2 Karrakatta Plate and G3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic as well as a lucrative pay-day in the Perth Magic Millions 3YO Trophy. Her value will sky-rocket if Samaready wins the G1 Golden Slipper in the lead-up to the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.
