Group 1 sprinter Alfred Nobel has been retired to stand at Coolmore Stud’s Irish base in 2011.
Alfred Nobel (4c Danehill Dancer – Glinting Desert by Desert Prince) was a G1 winner of the 2009 Phoenix Stakes and G2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh but was unplaced in the his final outing that year in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita.
He resumed racing this year but was well beaten in two outings at the Curragh.
Alfred Nobel is by Danehill Dancer and was bred by Seamus Burns of Lodge Park Stud. “Alfred Nobel was one of the fastest horses that I’ve ever bred,” Burns said. “Being such a fast and early maturing son of Danehill Dancer makes him an ideal stallion for the commercial market, especially as he was such a good-looking yearling when we sold him.”
His second dam is Dazzling Park (Warning) was G1 placed in the Irish Champion Stakes and Irish 1000 Guineas. She is a half-sister to European Darley’s English Derby winner New Approach (Galileo).
