Oaklands Stud has jumped the gun with its first-season sires Chateau Istana and All Bar One.
Chateau Istana (Grand Lodge) sired his first winner when Daydreamer was successful at Toowoomba on October 9 and All Bar One opened his account when Peterhof won at the same venue last Saturday night.
All Bar One (Hennessy) was a G2 winner of the Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm for Hoss and Gillian Heinrich before retiring to Oaklands for a $7,700 (inc gst) fee.
Peterhof had been fourth home on debut in the Hopeful Plate at Clifford Park and he broke through with a narrow victory in the Gainsborough Hardware 2YO Hcp (1000m).
Peterhof (2c All Bar One – Russian Delight by Fasliyev) is also the first winner from a daughter of G1 Victoria Oaks winner Weekend Delight. They are closely related to G1 Emirates Stakes winner Tears I Cry.
The All Bar One youngsters have been impressing around the country and he has already sired the city placegetters All the Torque and Bench Star.
Oaklands Stud owner Neville Stewart offered Peterhof at the 2009 Magic Millions National weanling sale and the 2010 Magic Millions Summer yearling sale but the colt was passed in for $10,000 and $30,000 respectively.
Apart from the Oaklands duo, the only other freshman sires off the mark so far this season are Flying Pegasus (Touchstone Farm), Nadeem (Darley) and Strada (Widden).
