All Bar One leader on Labour Day

Oaklands Stud sire All Bar One regained the lead for the first-season winners’ premiership on Monday.  His colt Champagne Buzz won the Parry Nissan Maiden Plate (1200m) at the Mt Garnet Cup meeting on Labour Day.

All Bar One has held or shared top spot for winners since Peterhof won at Toowoomba on October 30.

All Bar One was also the first freshman to register a stakes winner in Australia this season when I’m the One captured the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes in December.

He has now sired 6 individual winners to lead Nadeem on 5.  The Darley sire had drawn level in what’s developing into a tight title race when his colt Specter scored at Mornington on Easter Sunday.

Champagne Buzz (2g All Bar One – Tillyard by Caerleon) is prepared by premier North Queensland trainer Roy Chillemi for Kevin and Margaret Capra.  He was a $15,000 buy from the Oaklands Stud draft at the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS 600 yearling sale.

All Bar One (Hennessy) was a G2 winner of the Sir Byrne Hart Stakes at Eagle Farm for Hoss and Gillian Heinrich.  He stands at Oaklands for a $7,700 (inc gst) service fee

Champagne Buzz is the last of 7 winners for his Irish bred dam Tillyard.  She died in February 2010.  Second dam Royal Heroine (Lypheor) was a G1 winner of the Breeders’ Cup Mile and Hollywood Derby.
