Anna a great advertisement for Magic Millions

Graceful Anna scored an emotional victory in the Magic Millions 3yo Trophy for rookie trainer David Pfieffer at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

While Pfieffer celebrated, he also paid tribute to the late Tony Wildman.  “I did a long apprenticeship with Tony,” he explained.   “I just know he’s up there looking down on me.”

Graceful Anna (3f Canny Lad – Lamellar by Grand Lodge) won at Kembla Grange and Gosford before breaking the track record in the Magic Millions 3YO Stakes at Wyong in December.  She followed up with a Group 3 in the Vo Rogue Plate at Doomben on Boxing Day.

The filly is a great advertisement for the Magic Millions.  She was sold for $14,000 at the 2007 National Foal Sale, then $25,000 at the 2008 Gold Coast Yearling Sale and thirdly for $38,000 at the 2008 National 2yo HIT Sale.

“She’s just so tough this filly,” Pfeiffer said.  “She just keeps finding and I knew she would kick when they came at her.

Pfieffer is based at Warwick Farm and has just 10 horses in work.  Graceful Anna will be tipped out for a spell after doing such a magnificent job in her first preparation.

Darley sire Canny Lad got the winner from Lamellar who is now based in Western Australia.  Her Hurricane Sky filly (Lot 100) will be part of the Kintore Stud draft at the Perth Magic Millions on January 27.
