Aussie mare foals first Sea The Stars

An Australian bred mare has the honour of foaling the first foal by Sea The Stars.

Centreofattention (Danehill – L’On Vite by Secretariat) gave birth to a bay colt at Castlebridge Stud in County Meath on Friday night.  The dam is a sister to Coolmore Stud’s G1 sire Holy Roman Emperor and G3 SAJC Tokyo City Cup winner Milanova.

Centreofattention was placed at Doomben and was exported as a spring four year-old.  Her first foal is a yearling colt by Pivotal.

European Horse of the Year Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) is about to start covering his second book of mares at the Aga Khan’s Gilltown Stud in County Kildare.  The champion colt had his initial book capped at 140.

Among his stellar list of mares were Japanese champion Vodka and G1 winners Alpine Rose, Finsceal Beo, Lookhere, Lush Lashes, Speciosa and the Aga Khan’s Arc de Triomphe winner Zarkava.

“We are delighted to have had the first Sea of the Stars foal born,” Castlebridge’s Bill Dwan said.  “He looks a smashing colt with plenty of size and scope.  He is completely bay with a very attractive head.”
