Barretts January Sale average up 20%

The Barretts January Sale in California ended with significant increases in aggregate and average on Tuesday, January 26.

Total sales grossed US$2.01 million for 275 horses sold.  The average rose 20% to $7,320.  However, the median dropped 11% to $3,200.

The Craig Family Trust’s reduction accounted for $697,600 of the aggregate led by session-topper Gentlemen’s Crown who was knocked down to Warrendale Sales for $65,000.  She is a half-sister to G1-placed Chocolate Candy and is carrying a foal to that colt’s sire Candy Ride.
