Bart’s Group 1 boilover in Toorak

Allez Wonder will never be a pin-up horse for punters but she will forever be a favourite of Michelle Payne who captured her first G1 win on the Redoute’s Choice mare in the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Bart Cummings trained galloper was a $41 winner of the Listed Keith Nolan Classic at Kembla Grange in March and she reprised that victory with another $41 upset in the Toorak.

Allez Wonder (4m Redoute’s Choice – Luna Tudor by Military Plume) is raced in partnership by two staunch supporters of the Cummings stable – Dato Tan Chin Nam and Su-Ann Khaw.

Dato Tan Chin Nam’s partnership with Bart includes Melbourne Cup wins with Think Big, Saintly and Viewed.  The Khaw family owned Bart’s 1999 Epsom Handicap winner Allez Suez.

The trio also raced 2006 Caulfield Guineas winner Wonderful World (Agnes World) who is now standing at Patinack Farm.

Allez Wonder is by Redoute’s Choice and became his 52nd stakes winner when she nailed the Nolan Classic earlier this year.  She made it 16 Group 1 winners for the Arrowfield champion on Saturday.

The Toorak winner is from the Military Plume mare Luna Tudor who was a G2 Perth Cup winner for Perth QC Ron Davies.  When her racing days were over, he sold her to Trelawney Stud for $110,000 at the 2001 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.

Allez Wonder was a $600,000 graduate from the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale.  Her 3yo half-sister by Fastnet Rock was a $140,000 buy for Bart at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale.  She is named Breccia and was unplaced at her only start to date at Rosehill last December.

Trelawney Stud’s Luna Tudor’s yearling for the 2010 Karaka sale is a filly by Pins.
