Beautiful winner by More Than Ready

More Than Ready sired his third Eagle Farm winner within a week when Pienkna scored a barrier-to-box victory on Wednesday.

Jumping straight to front on debut, Pienkna was far too strong for her rivals in the Sky Racing Maiden Plate (1000m).  The Tony Gollan trained filly was never in danger while defeating Soldi Domani by more than two lengths.

The winner’s name is Polish for ‘beautiful’ and her connections agreed after watching her clock an unbeatable 33.25s for the last 600m.  She ran that sectional despite losing both front racing plates on the home turn.

“She was among my top two-year-olds last season – we were setting her for the Magic Millions Classic but struck a few problems,” Gollan said.  “We thought it would be better to give her a proper long spell rather than tackle the Sydney autumn races.

“She will make a very good three-year-old on what we saw today and we will probably send her straight to a Saturday race now.”

Pienkna (3f More Than Ready – Vignor by Flying Spur) was a $200,000 buy as a yearling from Vinery at the 2013 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  Her dam was a Listed winner at Morphettville and she has also foaled More Than Ready’s Brisbane stakes performer Dysfunction

The mare’s next foal is a Big Brown 2yo colt with Corowa trainer Richard Freyer.

More Than Ready sired Baited Breath to score at Eagle Farm last Wednesday and his G1 Golden Slipper star Phelan Ready broke a long run of outs there on Saturday.

The Vinery champion is gearing up for another lucrative spring starting this Saturday when Nayeli starts first-up in the LR The Rosebud at Rosehill.  The Gai Waterhouse trained filly won on debut at Randwick in January and then stepped up to claim the LR Chairmans Stakes at Caulfield.

Perth mare Celebrity Miss can add more black-type in the LR Belmont Newmarket on Saturday.  She is a last-start winner of the LR Bolton Sprint for leading owner-breeder Bob Peters.
