Temporise has gone to another level since resuming from a long spell and he was always in control of the final event at the Kingston Town Classic meeting.

The Blackfriars gelding was sooled towards the lead from a wide barrier by Craig Parnham and then established a winning break in the TABTouch With Cash Hcp (1400m) at Ascot.  It franked his first-up victory on Super Saturday.

Temporise (4g Blackfriars – Stop In Time by Tenby) is trained by Simon Miller for Mt Hallowell Stud owner Craig Thompson and Marty Young after making $95,000 at the 2012 Perth Magic Millions.  “He had to work hard to get across from the outside gate and it was a top ride by Craig,” Young said.  “He’s a big brute of a horse and is hard to get past when he can bowl along in front.

“Simon has worked through some issues to have him peaking today.  He’s got a massive stride and should get up to a mile.”

Bred and sold by Scenic Lodge, Temporise is a younger brother to stakes winners Full Reign (LR Challenge Stakes) and Impact Rating (LR Boulder Cup) and is also a three-quarter brother to Exquisite Timing (LR Aquanita Stakes).

His dam Stop In Time has foaled five to race by Blackfriars for five winners.  Their three year-old filly Full Time is due to debut for Scenic Lodge owner David Smith after finishing second in a Bunbury trial last month.

Scenic Lodge champion Blackfriars has sired 34 winners this season and is heading for a fifth Sunspeed title in a row with earnings of $1.47 million.

His latest maiden winner French Champagne was very impressive at Northam last Thursday.  She is an Oakland Park homebred and is from a half-sister to 12-time Scenic stakes winner Marasco.
