Blackfriars Fronts Perth Winter Sale

Gold Front Thoroughbreds will offer a strong draft of seven yearlings, including three youngsters by WA’s premier stallion Blackfriars, at the Perth Magic Millions Winter Sale on Friday.

There were 32 yearlings by Blackfriars catalogued for the Perth’s Premier Sale in February and that influenced Gold Front owners Alan and Sue Olive to keep their trio at Gingin until now.

The Blackfriars colt from Foxy Joan (Desert Fox) is a November foal but Sue Olive told WA Newspapers columnist Robert Edwards she liked him and the Blackfriars filly out of Hayley’s Image.

Hayley’s Image (Grand Lodge) has produced multiple winners Liberty’s Magic and Ariadne and comes from the family of Group 1 winning mare Red Tracer.

Gold Front also offers fillies by Champion Australian sire Hussonet and Arrowfield stallion All American plus a colt and filly by Coolmore Stud shuttlers Lookin At Lucky & Alfred Nobel.

The Olives began this year’s yearling sale series in January with a Fastnet Rock filly that realised $400,000 to top Day 2 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
