Peter Moody recovered from the shock loss of Golden Archer in the Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) when stablemate One Last Dance won the Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) at Caulfield on Wednesday.
One Last Dance (2f Encosta De Lago – One World by Danehill) won by four lengths on debut at Moonee Valley on December 17 and she made it two-for-two with a narrow win over Anevay (Exceed And Excel) and Graskop (Manton) on Australia day.
“The wide barrier meant she didn’t get any cover,” Moody said. “She’s still green and will be better suited if she can sit and sprint.”
The G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 12 is next on the agenda for the beautifully bred daughter of Coolmore’s champion Encosta De Lago. Moody won the 2009 Blue Diamond Stakes with Reward For Effort.
One Last Dance is from G3 Flemington 2YO winner One World and second dam Prawn Cocktail (Artichoke) is a half-sister to Royal Academy and the dam of Storm Cat.
