Red Arrow has been transferred from the Hunter Valley to stand at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria this year.

An international stakes winning son of Red Ransom, he retired to Lincoln Farm last year and served 66  mares at a $6,600 fee.  The move came after Blue Gum bought into the horse with prominent bloodstock agent Denis Roberts and major shareholder Terry Lillis.

“Red Arrow is a fine looking stallion and I can see him producing a very pleasing physical style of horse,” Blue Gum owner Philip Campbell said this week.  “He showed the sort of ability that lived up to his pedigree and we are very excited to have him join us.”

Red Arrow (7h Red Ransom – Lady Jakeo, by Last Tycoon) won at Wyong on debut and then developed into an open-age sprinter with placings in the G3 Bletchingly Stakes and Listed John Monash Stakes at Caulfield.

Red Arrow was subsequently switched to trainer John Sadler in California where he was successful in allowance races on both dirt and turf at Santa Anita.  He then stepped up to Group 3 company to land the Los Angeles Handicap (1200m) at Hollywood Park in a bullet 1.08.92s.  

Red Arrow is bred on the proven Red Ransom – Last Tycoon cross responsible for Group 1 champion Typhoon Tracy.  His dam Lady Jakeo was a G1 winner of the MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and MVRC Australia Stakes and his immediate family also boasts Golden Slipper winner Merlene and Magic Millions winner Bold Promise.

Blue Gum has set Red Arrow’s service fee at $6,600.
