Miss Linkin is carrying a PPT to Publishing and her foal is already an award winner at the Brisbane Royal Show earlier this month.
Miss Linkin is raced by Doomben trainer Peter Strong and is due to Raheen Stud resident Publishing on a November 2009 cover. She presented looking a picture at the RNA Brisbane Showgrounds and won a blue ribbon in the Thoroughbred Broodmare category.
Miss Linkin (Youthful Legs) was a Doomben maiden winner as an October 3YO in 2005. “She won by five lengths that day and ran a class record,” Strong recalled. “But she bled and only had another three starts.”
The mare produced a Quest For Fame colt last November and was then bred back to Publishing.
Publishing (Testa Rossa) won 6 races including G3 VRC Standish Hcp and G3 MRC Carlyon Cup. He covered 123 mares first-up at Raheen last year at a $5,500 fee (inc gst).
Publishing should sire precocious juveniles for breeders wishing to race or sell. His dam Sally Magic was runner up to Testa Rossa in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and she comes from the immediate family of champion colts Vain and Rancher.
Strong has been a strong supporter of Raheen stallions in recent years. He trains talented Shovhog filly Startling Pleasure who won twice at two and was runner-up to Fifteen Carat in the Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas last month. Her dam Staley Dawn (Dehere) was covered by Raheen’s Redoute’s Choice sire Stromberg Carlson last year.
Strong is preparing an Elusive Quality colt and a Bel Danoro filly for the Magic Millions 2YO HIT Sale in October. The Elusive Quality colt won the Champion 2YO Exhibit award at the Brisbane Royal Show. The handsome chestnut is from a half sister to the dam of ill-fated Group 1 filly Unearthly.
