My New Boss gave Raheen Stud’s Magic Millions HIT Sale consignment a timely boost when he won again in Singapore on Sunday.
My New Boss (4g Stromberg Carlson – Lady of Jewels by Danzero) bolted in by more than four lengths for trainer Brian Dean and the My MJ Stable. He was building up to a win after being runner-up at Kranji twice in August and September.
Former Raheen sire Stromberg Carlson has a 60% winning strike-rate with his Asian exports and Dean is more than happy with his gelding that cost $20,000 out of the Raheen draft at the 2010 Hit Sale. “He’s a laid-back horse and blinkers were the key,” Dean said. “I own half of him with my old family friend David Chew.”
Besides her Singapore winner, Lady of Jewels has a yearling colt by Publishing and she has just foaled a first-crop filly by Captain Sonador.
Stromberg Carlson (Redoute’s Choice) has four colts catalogued for the Magic Millions HIT Sale that starts on Wednesday, October 31. The quickest of them breezing-up at the Gold Coast was the colt from Sarani (Lot 306).
The Stromberg Carlson – Sarani colt clocked 10.80s and did it easily over 200 metres. He is a brother to WA sprinter Sound System who completed a hat-trick at Belmont Park and was fourth home in the G3 Lee-Steere Classic at Ascot.
Lot 306 breeze-up can be viewed here.
