Brackley Park stallions Deadly Storm (USA) and Globetrotter (USA) will parade at the stud’s Avenel base this Sunday.

“It is a good opportunity for mare owners to take a close look at our exciting young stallions,” owner Damian White said.  “They are both in excellent shape.”

Deadly Storm is already off the mark with his first crop winner Stormpatch who scored an on-pace victory at Launceston in March.  “Stormpatch showed ability from the outset,” trainer David Miller revealed.  “I reckon he has black-type potential.”

Deadly Storm is a son of Storm Cat from G3 Fair Grounds Oaks winner Brushing Groom and is really stamping his progeny.  “You can certainly pick out the Deadly Storms in a paddock full of yearlings,” White said.  “They are either bay or brown with that little bit of Storm Cat attitude and precociousness.”

Street Cry stallion Globetrotter will stand at an introductory service fee of $8,800 (inc gst) at Brackley Park this year.  “He is an imposing horse,” White said after searching for just the right stallion for Victoria.  “He had plenty of grit and I believe he will be warmly received by local breeders.”

Globetrotter (Street Cry – Cool Slew by Seattle Slew) was bred in Florida and won the G3 Grey Breeders’ Cup Stakes at Woodbine second time out.  Trainer Graham Motion brought him back for the 2008 classics, however, he injured a leg and was sidelined for 16 months.

Globetrotter won an 1800m allowance second up at Santa Anita in April 2009 and connections reached for the stars next time out in the G1 Charles Whittingham Memorial at Hollywood Park.

Juddmonte Farms colt Midships established a winning lead at the top of the straight until Globetrotter motored home to reduce the margin to a half-length at the post.

Globetrotter aggravated a leg injury in the Memorial and was retired with a career card that read 6: 3-2-0.  His sire Street Cry has been represented by Group winners Shocking, Predatory Pricer and Whobegotyou in Australia.  His North American flag-bearer is unbeaten mare Zenyatta.

“Street Cry has shown that he can sire freakish performers,” White said, “And Globetrotter is the sort of horse Australian breeders appreciate.”
