Alan Bailey and Glen Colless completed another hit-and-run raid into NSW when Brave the Way won the $70,000 Coffs Harbour Cup (1600m) on Thursday.
Brave the Way (5g Falbrav – La Belle Diamante by Zabeel) got home to beat the favourite Southern Shimmer (Southern Image) by a half length. Gazza Guru (Street Cry) was third.
On Wednesday, Bailey and Colless teamed up to win at Canterbury with God Bless Us (Flying Spur). She cost $250,000 at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.
Brave the Way was a bargain by comparison. He changed hands for $50,000 from the draft of Brooklyn Lodge at the 2008 Magic Millions National yearling sale.
The Coffs Harbour Cup winner is by former Arrowfield shuttler Falbrav. He is a half-brother to the winners Metung Belle and South African based Catalectric. It’s the extended family of grand producer Eight Carat.
