The strong buying trend at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale continued on Session 5 with increases across the board on Sunday.
A Break the Vault half sister to classy young gallopers Temple of Boom and Spirit of Boom brought the highest price of the day when knocked down to a Queensland based client of Magic Millions for $200,000.
The first of the non-select sessions grossed over $6.71 million at an average of $42,258. The clearance rate was over 83.2%.
Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said Sunday’s aale was one of the strongest for the company in recent years. “I couldn’t be much happier with the results achieved today,” Chester commented. “There was spirited bidding throughout and to have the average increase over 10% on last year’s figure is fantastic. The high clearance rate also shows the right balance between vendors and buyers.
A number of interstate and international clients were active during Session 5. Interstate trainers among buyers included Paul Perry, Barb Joseph, Matthew Dale, Robert Smerdon, John Sadler, Gabrielle Englebrecht, Pat Webster, Matthew Smith and John Hawkes.
Leading syndicators Star Thoroughbreds, Slade Bloodstock, Prime Thoroughbreds, Blue Sky Thoroughbreds, Racenet Bloodstock and Darby Bloodstock were also among the successful buyers.
On Thursday the Bundall sales complex will play host to Session 6 and then on Friday the Summer Carnival Thoroughbred Sale will be held.
