The full brother to Champion First Season sire Stratum will go under the hammer as part of the Reavill Farm draft the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions. The Redoute’s Choice colt is the latest yearling produced by Luskin Star mare Bourgeois whose six runners are all winners.
Magic Millions International Director David Chester said the colt would be a stand out lot at any auction in the world. “He is a smashing individual,” Chester stated. “Everyone who has seen him loves him and he is sure to be one of the most talked about yearlings in Australia next year.”
Magic Millions sold Stratum at the same sale before Paul Perry trained him to win the Golden Slipper. The Redoute’s Choice horse Stratum is now one of the country’s hottest young sires and is covering his best book of mares at Widden Stud this spring.
Reavill Farm’s David Rippon said he was looking forward to the colt going under the hammer. “He’s a clone of his brother,” Rippon said. “He has great presence and is very forward for his age. He has the athleticism and length of body which is a great hallmark of Stratum’s physique.”
Reavill Farm will also offer colts by Fastnet Rock, Lonhro, Flying Spur and Choisir plus four fillies including an outstanding Haradasun youngster.
Stratum’s first crop hit the ground running in 2009-10 and were headlined by Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily. The 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale will be held from January 12 to 21.
