Arrowfield champion Redoute’s Choice unveiled another filly with potential when Don’t Blink cruised home on debut at Canterbury on Saturday.
Don’t Blink (2f Redoute’s Choice – Snip Snip by Snippets) will be tipped straight out for a break. Saturday’s cameo was a one-off and she will return in the time for the early autumn features.
“I think the Widden and Silver Slipper will be races where she will be very competitive,” trainer John O’Shea said. “Depending on her performance, we will then give her one more run into the Golden Slipper.”
Don’t Blink is raced by former AJC chairman Ron Finemore in partnership with John Leaver. Her dam Snip Snip has also foaled G3 Maribyrnong Plate winner Husson Lightning (Hussonet) and Sydney winner Not a Snip A Doubt (Not a Single Doubt).
Husson Lightning is based at Heytesbury Stud and sired his first winner when Tempestuous Strike scored at Ascot on November 12.
Redoute’s Choice opened his current account with No Looking Back at Warwick Farm on November 19.
No Looking Back (2f Redoute’s Choice – Mirror Mirror by Dehere) will target the Magic Millions 2YO Classic after an eye-catching victory over stablemate Blazing Snitzel (Snitzel).
Redoute’s Choice was Australia’s Champion 2YO sire for the seasons ending 2005 and 2006. His 2YO Group 1 roll-call includes Fashions Afield, Miss Finland, Musir, Nadeem, Samantha Miss and Undoubtedly.
