Yarradale Stud’s winning run refuses to slow down with 3yo fillies Cashel Palace and Nonesospicy completing a second city double in a week at Ascot.
Their Melbourne Cup Day victories followed on from War Matters (War Chant) and Magic Millions graduate Wubin Gold (Shooting To Win) at Ascot last Saturday.
Cashel Palace (3f Street Boss – Burgoyne by War Chant) held off the late charge of veteran mare Perfect Bubbles (Vital Equine) to win the Schweppes Hcp (1500m) for owner Shane Stafford and trainer Dan Morton.
“She’s a filly with plenty of potential and finally got some luck in running to chalk up her first win,” Morton noted. “She was bred by our friends at Yarradale Stud and we’re looking forward to seeing if she can measure up in the WA Champion Fillies Stakes next start.”
Cashel Palace was a $160,000 graduate of Yarradale’s draft to the 2023 Perth Magic Millions. Her second-dam Saddler’s Silk (Barathea) was a 2yo winner in Sydney and Brisbane prior to a Group 1 placing in the QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes.
Yarradale purchased her off Darley in 2013 carrying Malaysian winner Mokastar (Poet’s Voice). The Gidgegannup link continues through Burgoyne and her War Chant full-sister Just Like Silk who foaled a Playing God colt first-up on October 1.
Speed on speed was the catch-cry for Nonesospicy when she dispatched a smart 3yo field for owner-breeder Wally Daly and co-trainers Sean & Jake Casey on Tuesday.
It was a comfortable ride in front for Willie Pike as she responded to hands and heels in the straight for a stress-free victory third time out for Yarradale sire Gingerbread Man. She’s a full-sister to last-start Ascot-winning stablemate Ain’t No Other Man. Their dam There’snonesosassy (Due Sasso) is now six for six at stud for Daly and her yearling is a colt by Maschino.
Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) is standing for a $5,500 (inc GST) service fee at Yarradale this season and Davy Hanratty can be contacted for bookings or further details on (08) 9574 6490 or 0429 326 904.
