Coolmore has followed up its purchase of So You Think by announcing Choisir will return to its County Tipperary property in 2011. The Australian-bred son of Danehill Dancer was rested for the 2010 northern-hemisphere covering season.
Choisir had been a regular shuttler between Coolmore’s Irish headquarters and the Hunter Valley after winning the King’s Stand Stakes and Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2003.
He has sired 25 stakes winners to date with 10 of them being bred in the northern hemisphere. His son Starspangledbanner will cover his first crop at Coolmore beginning in February. He appears certain to be awarded European champion sprinter honours after convincingly winning the G1 Golden Jubilee Stakes and G1 July Cup this year.
Weight-for-age star So You Think will also stand along his sire High Chaparral in County Tipperary next year.
Coolmore has confirmed Danehill sire Fastnet Rock will return to Ireland for a second northern season in 2011. Mares in foal to Fastnet Rock in the northern hemisphere this year include G1 winners Damson and My Emma as well as the dams of Araafa, Luas Line and Peeping Fawn.
