Clanglang transfers to Willow Grove Stud

Clangalang will transfer to Willow Grove Stud in South Australia for 2012.

Clangalang was a G1 winner of the AJC Derby and AJC Epsom Handicap at Randwick in 2003 before retiring to Eliza Park Stud.

A son of Queensland based sire Clang, he moved to South Australia in 2011 and served a season at Rivers End Stud which occupies the same property formerly known as Lakewood Stud.  Owner Louie Elia has placed Rivers End on the market and that was the catalyst for a further move this year.

Clangalang will stand for $5,500 (inc gst) service fee alongside Mint Lane (Maria’s Mon) at Willow Grove.  His oldest progeny are rising seven year-olds and, to date, there have been 61 winners of 191 races at a 53% strike-rate.

Gee Gees Blackflash, a G3 winner of the 2010 Tasmanian Derby, has been his chief earner notching 11 wins and over $570,000.
