Clear Mountain Fairview signs Worthy Cause

Choisir’s Group 3 winner Worthy Cause is letting down for his first book at Clear Mountain Fairview in Queensland.

He joins Hvasstan, Outback Prince, Zaha and Tycoon Ruler on its roster at Greenmount.

Worthy Cause was a tough and tenacious racehorse and showcased his outstanding ability from the outset for trainer John Zielke.  He won as a 2yo, collected Group honours as a 3yo and recorded another black type success as a 4yo at Flemington.

His biggest win came in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1800m).  “Worthy Cause is a premium option for breeders,” Clear Mountain Fairview principal Bob Frappell said.  “We are rapt in the horse and he has settled in beautifully.”

Worthy Cause hails from an outstanding family that includes Group 1 winning siblings Shogun Lodge (Epsom Hcp, Queen Elizabeth St, George Main St), Referral (George Ryder St) and Singing The Blues (Oakleigh Plate).

He flies the flag for champion sire Choisir who is quickly becoming a sire of sires.  “Worthy Cause has arrived at Clear Mountain Fairview and will stand at $5,500 fee,” Frappell added.  “He has a great conformation and a kind eye.  His pedigree and race performances demonstrate versatility and these aspects are certainly sought after when selecting a sire prospect.”
