The 2013 Fitton Raceday at Toowoomba’s Clifford Park won’t go ahead this year due to track refurbishments.

Instead, there are numerous fundraising activities with a free service to Wattle Brae Stud’s Champion Sire Court Command one of the prizes.

The annual Equine Hall of Fame Dinner will be held in Toowoomba on September 27 and the Festival of the Horse Stud Tour through the Scenic Rim visiting Yarramalong, Glenlogan Park and Eliza Park will be conducted on September 29.

Long-time Darling Downs equine supporter Del Fitton founded the Fitton Charity Raceday in 1988 and was awarded an Order of Australia medal for her services to the community and the promotion of the thoroughbred industry in 2011.  She is also chairwoman of the Queensland Equine Hall of Fame.
