Conduit sold to stand in Japan

Conduit (Ire) will change hands win, lose or draw after the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf on November 7.  After defending his Turf crown at Santa Anita, the Ballymacoll Stud homebred will be shipped to Japan to stand at Big Red Farm.

Conduit (Dalakhani) has been acquired by Shigeyuki Okada for the 2010 breeding season leaving the door open for a final start in the Japan Cup (G1) November 29.

A winner of last year’s English St Leger (G1), Conduit caught his rivals on the hop with a hit-and-run raid to California for the BC Turf.  He added a third top-level victory in this year’s King George (G1) when he led home a 1-2-3 for trainer Sir Michael Stoute.  He was a last-start fourth in the Arc de Triomphe (G1).

Conduit is a three-quarter brother to G2 Great Voltigeur winner Hard Top (Darshaan).  Former Yarraman shuttler Spectrum is also in the immediate family.

Ballymacoll will not be retaining any breeding rights to Conduit.  Big Red Farm is also home to Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Roses in May and Hong Kong Cup (G1) hero Agnes Digital.
