Coolmore Stud shuttles Camelot & Declaration of War

Coolmore Stud has bolstered its 2014 Australian roster with the addition of the high-class colts Camelot and Declaration of War.

Both horses were unbeaten two year-olds and Group 1 winning milers.

“Camelot was a wonderful racehorse,” Coolmore Australia spokesman Tom Magnier said.  “And he’s as good-looking a horse as has ever been retired to Coolmore.”

A European champion at two and three, Camelot is from the Sadler’s Wells sire line that has excelled in Australasia in recent years, while his dam is a Group winner and his second-dam is a stakes winner by Danehill.

“Declaration of War was a fabulous racehorse – a dual Group 1 winner who was as tough and sound as you could wish for,” Coolmore Australia general manager Michael Kirwan added.  “His sire War Front has made a start to his stud career reminiscent of his own sire Danzig, so it’s a hugely exciting new branch of an already established bloodline.

“What War Front has achieved in a short space of time is quite remarkable.  He’s a sire that we’re going to be hearing a lot more of in years to come and Declaration of War is unquestionably his very best son.”

Fees for both stallions will be announced at a later date.

Camelot (Montjeu) is currently standing for a 25,000 euros fee (AUD 37,500) fee at Coolmore Ireland.  He is based at its Co. Tipperary headquarters alongside Declaration Of War (War Front) who is priced at 40,000 euros (AUD 60,000).
