Coolmore Stud’s G1 winner Scat Daddy sired his first winner when Little Miss Muffet scored a barrier-to-box victory at Churchill Downs on Friday.

Miss Muffet (2f Scat Daddy – Jenna S. by Kris S.) cut out fast factions in front to win by three-quarters of a length clocking 58.20s for 1000m.

Trained by Tom Amoss for McLoughlin Stables, the filly is the seventh winner for her dam Jenna S.  The others include the stakes-placed filly Emma Darling (Hennessy).

Scat Daddy also won his initial start at Belmont Park in June 2006 before stepping up for features in the G2 Sanford Stakes and G1 Champagne Stakes.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, he resumed the following year to win the G2 Fountain of Youth Stakes and G1 Florida Derby.  He failed in the Kentucky Derby but it was later discovered he had suffered a slight tendon injury during the Run for the Roses.

Scat Daddy (Johannesburg) stands at Coolmore’s Ashford base in Kentucky and his first crop have been popular at the sales.

A Scat Daddy colt topped Day 1 of the Florida 2YO Sale in March.  His session-topper made $400,000 and his Kentucky based vendor Carrie Brogden gave the sire his vote of approval.

“Scat Daddy throws a bigger type than Johannesburg,” Brogden said.  “I’ve loved every Scat Daddy we’ve dealt with and I hope he becomes a special sire.”

Scat Daddy stands for a $10,000 fee at Ashford Stud.
