Coulis – Bred to Win – Thursday, 7 January 2010

Zabeel filly Coulis can break through at her fourth start in the Chatswood Stud Plate at Seymour (Race 3 at 2.10pm AEDT) this afternoon.

Coulis has will appreciate stretching out to 1600m after a fast finishing third over 1400m at Kilmore last month.  The form out of that race has held up with the winner Connemara Bay being placed at Caulfield at her next start.

Trainer Rod Douglas also nominated Coulis for races at Mornington, Moonee Valley and Moe this week and has elected to start her at Seymour today.

Coulis (3f Zabeel – Fleischer by Danehill) is a homebred Pinecliff Racing galloper and is by NZ champion Zabeel from a Sandown Listed winner raced by Jonathon Munz.  The dam is a half-sister to G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Reactive (Geiger Counter).

Fleischer has foaled four winner so far including the Pinecliff owned Roubechon (Quest for Fame) who was a Listed winner of the 2005 Jayco Cup at Caulfield.
