Crazy Cavallo wins for Not A Single Doubt

Not A Single Doubt’s Perth connection continued to pay dividends on Saturday when Cavallo Pazzo was too classy for his opponents in the E J R Reilly Hcp (1100m) at Ascot.

Cavallo Pazzo (4g Not A Single Doubt – Annuity by Euclase) has won 5 of his 18 starts and has earned more than $202,000 for connections.  The Ted Martinovich trained gelding was a $22,000 buy at the 2009 Adelaide Magic Millions.

Martinovich will map out a stakes race campaign following his convincing victory over Absolute Pleasure (Trade Fair) and Saytorio (Oratorio).  “He’s going extremely well.  I may look at another race in town before tackling the Bunbury Stakes.”

The Listed Bunbury Stakes (1400m) carries $100,000 in prizemoney and is scheduled for March 11.  Cavallo Pazzo, which means crazy horse in Italian, earned black-type status when runner-up to The Underworld in the LR Belmont Guineas last July.

His dam Annuity was an Eagle Farm winner and she is a half-sister to Aragen (Rory’s Jester) who was G1 winner of the 1994 QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Not A Single Doubt welcomed his first Perth stakes winner when Single Spice was successful in the Listed Supremacy Stakes at Ascot last year.  She is raced by former AFL star Peter Bell and was also G3 placed in the WA Sires’ produce Stakes.

Not A Single Doubt stands at Arrowfield Stud for a $24,750 service fee.  He has sired 115 winners of 283 races at a superb 62% strike-rate.
