BC3 Thoroughbreds, a rising pin hooking and breeze up syndicator, had plenty to celebrate on Saturday when exciting two-year old Dane Babylon won the Peter Armytage Handicap (1000m) at Flemington.

Dane Babylon (2c Danewin-Kimash by Jeune) defeated Exceed All Limits by a long head with Agrippa a half neck away in third.

Bill Vlahos, CEO of BC3 Thoroughbreds, said the victory was a significant moment not just for the company but the Australian racing industry.

“The horse has been going well, and one of many that we’ve got for sale at BC3 Thoroughbreds,” Vlahos said.

“It’s all about creating two-year-old horses for owners so they can come in and buy at a later stage and rather then guess at a yearling stage, we prepare the horses for them and we prepare horses like Dane Babylon.”

Purchased for $200,000 at last year’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Dane Babylon is the second raced foal from Kimash, a half sister to the dam of g1 Toorak Handicap winner Rewaaya.  Vlahos was keen to announce that Dane Babylon was still for sale.

“It doesn’t matter what races they win, we’re willing to sell them,” Vlahos explained.

“His price has gone up most definitely, especially for those agents listening in Hong Kong,” Vlahos quipped.

The team from BC3 Australia have been busy buying quality yearlings around Australia this year and will be presenting an outstanding draft at the 2009 Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale at the Gold Coast beginning on October 28.
