Darley announces 2011 stud fees

Darley has announced the stud fees of its 26 stallions that will stand in Australia for the 2011 breeding season.

Darley’s stallions have sired 14 individual winners of 18 Group 1 races in the last twelve months including;

STREET CRY ($110,000)  One of the world’s most exceptional stallions whose four G1 winners of the last year include Shocking and wonder mare Zenyatta.

SHAMARDAL ($88,000)  Captain Sonador, Lope de Vega and Casamento added Group 1 wins to those of his Champion filly Faint Perfume.

MEDAGLIA D’ORO ($77,000)  Rapidly emerging as one of the best and most exciting stallions in the world.

COMMANDS ($66,000)  Australia’s leading sire by winners whose latest G1 winners are Skilled and Erewhon.

BERNARDINI ($38,500)  Remarkable sire who is the only first-season sire ever to get Group 1 winners on the turf and dirt.

DOMESDAY ($22,000)  Sire of a juvenile G1 winner from his first crop and Australia’s leading sire of three-year-old stakes winners this season.

EXCEED AND EXCEL ($66,000)  Australia’s leading sire of two-year-olds and Darley’s most recent source of G1 success with Helmet’s easy win in the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Street Cry’s best son STREET SENSE ($38,500) is this year’s leading first season sire at the sales and his fastest son STREET BOSS ($13,750) will also return to Australia this spring.

“The Darley stallions have enjoyed their best year yet,” Darley’s Australian Managing Director Henry Plumptre said.  “From our youngsters Nadeem and Ad Valorem who have had their first two-year-olds running this season, to our proven stallions such as Street Cry, Shamardal, Lonhro and Commands, we really have had a tremendous year.

“Looking forward, we are enthusiastic about our six stallion prospects with their first two-year-olds running later this year and are encouraged by the progeny of our even younger horses, some of which will feature at the forthcoming breeding stock sales.

“We look forward to offering breeders a roster of outstanding quality and talking to our clients in the coming months.”
