Darley has announced champion colt Sepoy will stand for a $66,000 fee at Kelvinside Stud in the Hunter Valley this year.
Sepoy (3c Elusive Quality – Watchful by Danehill) was a dominant winner of the G1 Blue Diamond and G1 Golden Slipper at two. He returned earlier this season for further G1 victories in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley and Coolmore Stakes at Flemington.
“Sepoy is in full training and the plan is for him to run in the July Cup before retiring to stud,” Darley spokesman Simon Crisford said. “We hope that he shows the northern hemisphere what a special horse he is.”
Bred by Sheikh Mohammed, Sepoy is from a full-sister to G1 winning mare Camarena. The powerful sprinter remains Australia’s best three-year-old with 10 wins from 13 starts and $3.88 million in prize money.
