Mornington based trainer Matt Laurie predicted a bright future for Two Sugars after she broke through on home soil in October.
The Dash For Cash filly proved Laurie’s a good judge after completing a hat-trick at Moonee Valley on the weekend.
After her Mornington maiden over 1200m, Two Sugars doubled up going 1400m at Sale before coming to town for an all-the-way victory in the EEMS Technologies Hcp over 1600m at Moonee Valley.
Two Sugars (3f Dash For Cash – Miss Capucino by Khozaam) will eventually get over ground being from a NZ bred mare who won up to 2100m. “She’s got ability, alright,” Laurie said. “And there’s plenty of improvement to come.”
Laurie is located at Carringbush Park just five minutes from Mornington racecourse where there’s easy access to the beach and the bay.
Dash For Cash is closing in on anther milestone at stud. Two Sugars was one of four winners for him last week. Swettenham Stud’s favourite grey has sired 197 individual winners and should break the double century this month.
