Spirited bidding by more than 70 individual buyers at Oaklands Junction saw the Inglis VOBIS Gold yearling sale average climbs 42% to $19,370 on Sunday.
A total of 108 lots reached turnover of $2.09 million and the clearance improved one point to 86%.
A Redoute’s Choice colt topped the Day 1 leader-board $80,000 to the bid of Frankie Stockdale. He is the first foal of Hussonet mare French Alliance, and was offered by Morning Rise Stud.
“The plan is to take this colt back through the Sydney Ready2Race Sale in October,” said Stockdale. “I want to continue to support that sale as it grows. I saw buyers there last year who you only ever see at yearling sales.
“The yearlings I have bought are good, well-bred horses for decent money.”
Another likely pin-hook for the Inglis Ready2Race Sale is Basinghall Farm’s Not A Single Doubt – Il Sogno colt secured by Peter Strong for $68,000 on behalf of his client Tosh Murphy.
Basinghall’s Tas Rielley also sold a Snitzel – Tickle My colt for $75,000 and that helped the Nagambie farm top of the vendors table by aggregate and average (three or more sold).
