Day 2 Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale – Supplementary Starcraft to Aquanita

The supplementary catalogue helped boost the overall figures for the VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale at Oaklands on Monday.

Three late entries tacked on to the General Session made the Top 6 on the overall leader-board starting with Lot 392, a Charge Forward – Paramount filly from Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm.  Her dam is a sister to G1 Stradbroke Hcp winner La Montagna and she was bought by Stephen Theodore for $44,000.

Lot 399, an Artie Schiller – Chitraka colt offered by Emirates Park sold to Sheamus Mills & Princess Park Racing for $56,000.

Lot 403, a Starcraft – Freestyle colt from Hillside Thoroughbreds, topped the day’s trade when selling to Aquanita trainer Robert Smerdon for $68,000.  His dam was a multiple stakes winner in Melbourne and Adelaide.

“It was pleasing to record an increase in average on last year’s sale and also to see the strength of the sale remain through to the end,” Inglis director Peter Heagney said.  “Well conformed and presented yearlings were in demand – yearlings that did not meet this criteria were difficult to sell.”
