Day 2 Magic Millions National yearling sale – Rogerson Rendezvous

Coolmore Stud champion Encosta de Lago was represented by the topped priced yearling at the Magic Millions National Sale on Thursday when his grey filly from Rendzina made $250,000.

Rendzina (Testa Rossa) won five races and was stakes placed at Randwick for Graeme Rogerson and the Kiwi trainer was the successful buyer on the Gold Coast.  Second-dam Capto (Octagonal) is a half sister to G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Khaptingly.

Baramul Stud sold the session-topper and Arrowfield Stud was next best on the leader-board with a Redoute’s Choice filly from Brazilian Pulse that sold for $170,000.  She will be heading to Victoria after being purchased by Blue Sky Bloodstock in conjunction with trainer Danny O’Brien.

Brazilian Pulse (Captain Rio) was a Group 1 winner of the 2010 VRC Oaks.

The top priced colt of the day was the Snitzel – St. Therese three quarter brother to Group winner Mirrasalo.  Arrowfield Stud sold him to agent John Foote for $160,000.

Arrowfield also sold a Redoute’s Choice – Aussie Christmas colt for $135,000 to Darby Racing.

Turnover from the two-day Select Yearling Sale rounded out at $10.08 million at an average of $34,766.  T he clearance rate was 70%.

The National Sale concludes on Friday with the General Yearling Sale followed by a Racehorse Sale will be held.
