Sydney trainer Gary Moore has paid $265,000 for an I Am Invincible colt to top Day 2 of the Perth Magic Millions.
Offered by Dawson Stud on Tuesday, he’s the first foal of LR Belgravia Stakes winner Miss Solis (Oratorio). “For me, he was the pick of the sale and I think he will go as an early two-year-old,” Moore said. “We’re so keen on getting a top class juvenile and this could be the bloke to do it for me.”
The Gingerbread Man – Fiorentina colt was next best at $170,000. He is a half-brother to stakes winning mare Silent Sedition and will join her in Melbourne after being claimed by Caulfield trainer Andrew Noblet in partnership with Aqua Trained Thoroughbreds.
The good-looking chestnut is by Australia’s current leading first season sire and was offered Korilya Stud’s Ellie Giles.
The two-day Perth Sale saw 254 lots gross $9.36 million at an average of $36,846.
“It has been a tougher sale than last year but, having said that, there’s been a number of positives,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said. “The prizemoney for 2yo races next year is going to be massive and when people get that money in their pockets they will start changing their patterns.
“Hopefully, one of the new boys coming through like Gingerbread Man and Frost Giant can kick on and that will lift the profile of the State.”
