Lauriston Thoroughbreds topped the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale last week and its Domesday colt topped Day 3 of the Adelaide Magic Millions on Wednesday.
The Domesday – Cosmic Express colt made $51,000 to the bid of Victorian based Blue Moon Racing. His dam won a Cranbourne maiden for Lauriston’s Kevin and Tanith O’Brien before retiring to stud.
Cosmic Express (Success Express) foaled colts by Kheleyf and Domesday in her first two seasons and then delivered a Reset filly in 2012. After three visits to Darley Victoria, she was re-routed to Turffontein at Blue Gum Farm last year.
Lauriston headed the Inglis Premier at Oaklands Junction last week with 6 lots averaging $194,167. Daylight was second followed by Fairhill Farm on $129,750
A Wilander colt was next best on the Adelaide leader-board after Morphettville trainer Gordon Richards paid $50,000 for the half brother to in-form three-year-old Spoilspot.
Day 3 trade at the Magic Millions reached $1.42 million on 132 yearlings at an average price of $10,773. The clearance rate rose 8 points to 82%.
