Stakes performed Storm Cat mare Tell It commanded top price of $540,000 to Blandford Bloodstock on Day 3 of the Keeneland November Sale.
Tell It is a half-sister to top sire Pulpit and was sold in foal to Candy Ride on Thursday. Consigned by Claiborne Farm as agent, the 15 year-old chestnut is the dam of stakes winner Dream Nettie (Dixie Union).
Spring Party (Smart Strike) was next on the leader-board on account of Stonestreet Thoroughbreds at $525,000. The six-year-old mare is carrying her first foal by Unbridled’s Song.
Spring Party captured the 2011 LR Wintergreen Stakes at Turfway Park and counts this year’s G1 Forego Stakes winner Emcee (Unbridled’s Song) as a half-brother. She previously sold for $150,000 at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale.
Darley shuttler Bernardini sired the highest-priced foal on Thursday when BG Stables paid $295,000 for his colt from Mining My Business (Mining). The youngster is a half-brother to G2 winner Real Cozzy (Cozzene).
Day 3 saw 234 horses exchange hands for $22.27 million at an average of $95,207. The Keeneland November Sale continues through to November 16.
