A Written Tycoon colt and a Sebring filly topped proceedings at $230,000 during a record-breaking Sunday session of the Magic Millions Sale.
Buoyant trade helped push the average up 12% to a new mark of $61,977 while turnover soared 25% to another new high of $12.33 million.
The top priced Written Tycoon – Rate the Choice colt was purchased by Victorian trainer Mark Riley from the draft of Woodside Park. He is a half-brother to two winners including the smart Hong Kong galloper Graceful Kingdom.
Newhaven Park’s Sebring – Allow filly equalled the colt’s price-tag later in the day when she was purchased by B2B Bloodstock. The attractive grey filly is the sixth foal of Rahy’s Queensland Oaks winning daughter Allow.
“Book 2 proved to be a great opportunity for buyers and vendors alike,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said. “Competition was strong as evidenced by the 81% clearance rate and the momentum from Book 1 flowed through the day.”
