A Red Dazzler full brother to Saturday’s G1 Queensland Oaks winner Tinto will be a highlight of the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale on Thursday.
The brown colt is catalogued as Lot 1889 and will be presented by Eureka Stud. Resident sire Red Dazzler has five colts and two fillies entered for this week’s National Yearling Sale.
The Rex Lipp trained Tinto scored a comprehensive win in the $400,000 Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm. She raced away to beat the favourite Arabian Gold by over a length in a dominant performance.
Lipp worked at Eureka for many years and said the filly is unlikely to contest next week’s Queensland Derby. “We will make up our mind when the smoke clears but the Caulfield Cup might be our goal,” he said. “She will probably go for a spell now and comes back for the spring carnival.”
Tinto (3f Red Dazzler – Truly Brave (Brave Warrior) failed to reach a $10,000 reserve when offered at the 2012 National Yearling Sale. She is raced by Eureka Stud’s Grania McAlpine along with first time owner Annabelle Raff and has now earned $474,200.
The Toowoomba filly was sent out second favourite after a recent win in the Gold Coast Bracelet and a last-start second in the Doomben Roses.
Tinto is the first Group 1 winner for Red Ransom’s Toorak Handicap winning son Red Dazzler. His Oaks heroine is one of three winners produced by Truly Brave.
The Oaks completed a Group 1 double for Eureka Stud. The historic Queensland property has signed last week’s Doomben 10,000 winner Spirit Of Boom to join its roster later this year.
