Champion Australian bred colt Delago Deluxe has changed stables in South Africa.  Owner Marcus Jooste has transferred him from Charles Laird in Jo’burg to Mike Bass in Cape Town.

Delago Deluxe (3c Encosta de Lago – Succeeding by Flying Spur) in unbeaten in four starts.  He won the G3 Protea Stakes at Turffontein and the G1 Gold Medallion at Scottsville to earn Champion 2YO honours at the South African Equus Awards.

He will be specifically set for the G1 SA Cape Guineas (1600m) at Kenilworth in December.  Bass has been the Cape’s champion trainer for the last five seasons and is best known for his association with South African legend Pocket Power.

Delago Deluxe was a $550,000 buy from Baramul Stud at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  His dam Succeeding is one of five winners from Peter Moran’s outstanding broodmare Staging.

Moran has also bred the G1 winners Duporth (Red Ransom) and Excites (Danewin) from the mare as well as a G2 winner Tickets (Redoute’s Choice).
